Thought Forms

Thought Forms is a brain computer interface (BCI) project that translates human brain activity into dynamic, generative visual forms. The system uses a particle aggregation algorithm that responds in real time to EEG data collected from a wearable headset. The six cognitive states driving each aggregation (Excitement, Interest, Stress, Engagement, Attention, and Relaxation) sculpt the behavior, density, and structure of an ever-evolving particle form.

These particle clouds can be captured and 3D printed, pulling something that existed only as electrical signal into the material world. In therapeutic and reflective contexts, Thought Forms offers a novel tool for mental health therapies, biofeedback, and self-awareness, enabling users and clinicians to track emotional states over time through both digital and physical outputs. A therapist can read shifts in a patient's emotional signature across sessions, users can track states like hyperarousal or sustained cognitive load and build a longitudinal record of the inner life that verbal communication rarely reaches.
